Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer who can design systems (heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, hydronics, steam, plumbing, gas, and compressed-air utilities) for Mission Critical facilities project types. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Mission Critical projects and Data Center facility design.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical systems.
  • Perform space planning to guide mechanical room sizing.
  • Help identify potential conflicts early through collaborative design.
  • Develop mechanical construction documentation and BIM models utilizing Revit MEP or similar CAD package.
  • Supervise the installation of the designed systems and equipment.
  • Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
  • Oversee the production of design documents by graduate engineers.
  • Balance workload and varying requirements of multiple complex projects.
  • Attend client meetings and represent the mechanical interests of the firm.
  • Occasional travel within the US.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Demonstrated history of working large-scale design projects.
  • Understand computation fluid designs, MEP/FP engineering design, and failure/reliability studies.
  • Possess working knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Possess working knowledge of different mechanical systems.
  • Current knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD MEP.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum 10+ related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Mission Critical projects experience required

Pay Range:
• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP)-$134,900.00 - $202,500.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
