Job DescriptionThe OpportunityDesign What Comes Next
Shape resilient, scalable, maintainable, and energy-efficient mechanical infrastructure for mission critical and data center facilities across Canada. In this senior technical leadership role, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, partner directly with clients, and advance cooling solutions for enterprise, colocation, hyperscale, AI, cloud, and high-performance computing environments.
Your Impact- You will lead mechanical design and technical delivery for complex mission critical facilities, helping clients achieve reliable operations, efficient performance, and capacity for future growth:
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of mechanical systems for enterprise, colocation, hyperscale, AI, cloud, and high-performance computing data centers.
- Develop chilled water, pumping, heat rejection, air-cooled, and liquid-cooled solutions that support reliability, redundancy, maintainability, and operational continuity.
- Integrate high-density cooling technologies, including direct-to-chip cooling, immersion cooling, rear-door heat exchangers, and coolant distribution units.
- Perform and review thermal calculations, load assessments, cooling capacity studies, energy analyses, CFD studies, and airflow optimization strategies.
- Coordinate mechanical design with electrical, structural, civil, controls, telecommunications, commissioning, and architectural disciplines.
- Prepare and review basis-of-design reports, specifications, technical studies, calculations, and construction documents that enable confident project decisions.
- Guide site visits, construction administration, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational readiness activities.
- Mentor engineers and designers, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to proposals, strategic pursuits, and practice growth.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- More than 10 years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, including mission critical facilities, data centers, healthcare, industrial, advanced technology, or other complex infrastructure.
- Demonstrated expertise in chilled water systems, cooling plants, pumping systems, heat rejection equipment, and air- and liquid-cooled data center architectures.
- Experience with enterprise, colocation, hyperscale, AI, cloud, or high-performance computing projects, including Tier III or Tier IV facilities.
- Knowledge of direct-to-chip cooling, immersion cooling, coolant distribution units, rear-door heat exchangers, CFD analysis, and thermal optimization.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and working directly with clients, contractors, utilities, vendors, and commissioning personnel.
- Ability to balance technical excellence, project execution, client expectations, and commercial objectives while providing clear technical guidance.
- Readiness to participate in site visits, commissioning, integrated systems testing, operational readiness reviews, and construction administration.
Compensation:- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100-138,000
