The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems for advanced industrial automation equipment, including aseptic filling workcells- from early-stage prototypes to product sustainment. This position reports to the Director of Engineering, Aseptic Filling and is part of the Engineering team located in Burnaby, BC and will be an on-site role.
What you will do: - Lead mechanical design for complex automated equipment from concept through prototyping, integration, verification, release, and continuous improvement.
- Design precision mechanisms, tooling, fixtures, actuator-driven assemblies, pneumatics, and equipment interfaces for automated manufacturing platforms.
- Own mechanical design direction, technical reviews, and release deliverables, including CAD models, drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, BOMs, and engineering change records.
- Lead mechanical troubleshooting and design refinement for build, commissioning, manufacturing, supplier, service, and quality escalations.
- Apply analysis, testing, DFM/DFA, design risk methods, and structured problem solving while coaching others to improve technical rigor and decision quality.
Who you are: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Long-standing experience designing automated equipment, precision mechanisms, tooling, fixtures, actuator-driven systems, and complex motion assemblies.
- Advanced proficiency creating production-ready mechanical design packages, including CAD models, drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, BOMs, engineering change records, and release documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analysis, design risk methods, and manufacturability principles while providing technical leadership through trade-off decisions, design reviews, and structured problem solving.
- Experience advancing early-stage technologies from concept through prototype build, test, verification, and design iteration, while supporting manufacturing, service, or quality issues through structured troubleshooting.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: - Experience with advanced mechanical analysis, including finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, vibration analysis, or reliability modeling.
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering projects, including planning, prioritization, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and delivery of technical milestones.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 -$125,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
