Full Job Description
Hexcel is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Amesbury MA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Lead continuous improvement projects supporting operations in all product lines & supporting departments (CNC programming/machining, Quality Inspection, etc.) to optimize production efficiencies, improve product quality, reduce wastes, and promote safer working conditions.
  • Responsible for the specification, sourcing, qualification, and implementation of new tooling & equipment. Manage budgets while standing up new work-cells.
  • Support costing/quoting activities for potential new business while identifying risks related to customer requirements, safety, material selection, and manufacturability.
  • Provide guidance, training and technical expertise to other engineers to move projects towards successful implementation, achieving cost, throughput, safety, and quality standards.
  • Interact with customers and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues with existing products, and provide feedback on new product requirements relative to our manufacturing capabilities.
  • Drive innovation through research of emerging technologies in the areas of Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, Machine Technologies and CAD/CAM software.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Plastics, Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing technologies and materials including (but not limited to) Polymer Processing, Thermoplastic extrusions, Thermoforming, Injection/Compression Molding, Composites Manufacturing, CNC machining, Web Coating, HVLP coating, etc.
  • Proven track record of successful project management and implementation.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement techniques; Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, ERP/MRP systems, & CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to create and interpret blueprints with an understanding of GD&T and other industry standards.
  • Regular attendance on company premises is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
    Complete salary range for this role: $85,400 - $146,400


This position is restricted to U.S. citizens due to U.S. federal government contracts that require the employment of only persons who are U.S. citizens.
