Senior Manufacturing ChemistBillerica, MA (on-site)ROLE SUMMARY:The Senior Manufacturing Chemist supports chemical manufacturing operations by executing production activities in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements. This senior role focuses on supporting manufacturing processes, equipment, and documentation practices as a scientific subject mater expert.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:- Execute chemical manufacturing batches according to SOPs and batch records
- Operate processing and testing equipment (e.g. mixers, filtration systems, chromatography)
- Accurately complete batch records and production documentation
- Manufacture reagents requiring chemical or biochemical expertise
- Perform in-process testing and evaluate results
- Troubleshoot formulation or process issues independently
- Lead daily manufacturing operations and prioritize production activities
- Serve as technical resource for technicians and chemists and resolve process issues
- Maintain detailed experimental and manufacturing documentation
- Review batch records and documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Support cleaning, setup, and material handling activities
- Conduct troubleshooting/CAPA investigations as necessary
- Collaborate with quality control, engineering, and R&D teams
- Assist with scale-up from lab or pilot batches to full production
- Author and revise technical documentation
- Label, package, and store finished products according to specifications
- Report deviations, errors, or equipment issues and own corrective actions
- Train and qualify junior staff on manufacturing procedures
- Recommend process improvements and efficiency gains
- Support audits and inspections as necessary
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of experience or Master's degree with 2+ years
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability
- Strong knowledge of chemical principles and laboratory techniques
- Strong documentation and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with PPE requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with batch manufacturing or continuous processing
- Knowledge of analytical testing methods (e.g., titration, pH, viscosity, HPLC)
- Problem-solving and process optimization skills
- Familiarity with safety protocols, and regulatory standards

Pay Range: $100,000 - $115,000 per year
