Description
Location: Local talent to one of our office locations in Rochester, NY; Lake Mary, FL; Schaumburg, IL; or Meridian ID with hybrid schedule preferred. Will consider remote talent based in Eastern, Central or Mountain time zones.
Position Overview:The Senior Manager, Tax Technology & Process Transformation is responsible for leading the strategy, design, implementation, and continuous optimization of tax technology solutions and end-to-end tax operational processes. This role partners with Tax, Operations, Compliance, Product, Finance, and Technology teams to modernize tax operations through automation, digital transformation, data-driven decision making, and process standardization.
Reporting to the Director, Tax Operations, this position will develop and execute a multi-year transformation roadmap that improves operational efficiency, scalability, accuracy, compliance, and user experience while reducing operational risk. This position serves as both a strategic leader and hands-on transformation partner, driving initiatives from concept through implementation and adoption.

- Develop and execute a comprehensive tax technology and process transformation strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish and maintain a multi-year roadmap prioritizing technology investments, automation opportunities, and business process improvements.
- Evaluate technologies, AI capabilities, workflow platforms, and automation tools to improve tax operations and compliance outcomes.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to define future-state operating models and solution architectures.
- Lead end-to-end redesign of tax processes to improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for process standardization across tax operations while reducing operational complexity.
- Lead implementation and optimization of tax technology platforms, workflow solutions, document management systems, automation tools, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Manage a portfolio of strategic transformation initiatives, balancing business priorities, resource capacity, and expected value realization.
- Define program objectives, success metrics, milestone plans, and adoption strategies.
- Monitor project risks, dependencies, and execution challenges while proactively removing barriers to delivery.
- Lead organizational change efforts, including communication plans, stakeholder engagement, training, and adoption activities.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to assigned team while driving clarity and transparency.
- Develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience leading tax operations, process transformation, business transformation, tax technology, or operational excellence initiatives.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional programs, projects, and teams.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale process transformation and technology implementation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of tax operations, compliance processes, and tax technology ecosystems.
- Experience with workflow automation, business process redesign, and operational improvement methodologies.
- Experience using data, analytics, and performance metrics to drive decision-making.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience within payroll tax, tax compliance, tax filing, tax technology, or enterprise tax operations environments.
- Experience with AI, Generative AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Experience with APIs, ETL/ELT processes, SQL, process mining, workflow tools, OCR technologies, or robotic process automation.
- Experience with enterprise platforms.
- Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- CPA, MBA, or related professional certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
- Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
The base pay range for this position is $126,200- $150,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
