POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing manages and oversees tactical Procurement operations, and related processes and procedures to maximize business opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in the implementation of Procurement initiatives, supporting vendor management objectives, rationalizing the supply base, leveraging spend, reducing rates, identifying opportunities for internalization, and participating in the on-going transformation of procure-to-pay processes.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead the National Accounts Sourcing Team in support of Republic Services National Accounts (RSNA) customers, including sourcing strategy, Sustainability Solutions initiatives, subcontractor P&L ownership, budget forecasting, and supplier network management across the U.S. and Canada.
- Manage team personnel activities, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, corrective actions, and compensation recommendations.
- Oversee departmental administration, budgeting, goal setting, and financial and operational performance reporting.
- Evaluate bid responses, recommend sourcing solutions based on quality, cost savings, and payment terms, and award contracts upon approval.
- Act as an escalation point for suppliers and facilitate resolution of cross-functional payment and service issues.
- Monitor key performance metrics, including P&L results, spend analytics, operational efficiencies, supplier performance, and subcontractor value capture.
- Lead cross-functional cost reduction initiatives and sourcing strategies to improve service, supplier performance, and financial results.
- Lead process standardization efforts to ensure compliance with company policies and operational requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships and contract performance to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations and commercial integrity.
- Assist senior Procurement leadership in developing and implementing supplier performance management programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel by air, vehicle, or other transportation methods approximately 2-3 times per year, as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Professional CPM certification.
- Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma or Lean Sigma experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 8 years of relevant purchasing experience at a progressively responsible level.
- At least 4 years' experience in a managerial role.
- Direct experience negotiating large support contracts involving multiple business unit/sector spend categories.
