Senior Manager Space Planning

Location: White Plains, New York, United States

Function: Commerce

About the Role:

This role leads the creation/updates of HUSA Space strategy and supports the Sales and Category Development teams, demonstrating to retail customers why attention to Space on the shelf is essential; and why Heineken USA can be a valued partner in the analysis and development of the beer-selling space. Taking a category-centric approach, while still striving to attain the best possible results for Heineken USA, the Space Planning Sr. Manager will work with retail customers in varying levels of partnership, from planogram creation and test set management; to reset validation and assurance of in-store execution; and category and segment advisement for beer category buyers at major national accounts.

Will also serve as a subject-matter expert in regard to Space Planning (JDA) software, leading initiatives in training, reporting, and JDA best practices. Must embrace the opportunity to innovate and create, working with Space Planning Manager to develop new processes and refine existing ones.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation and/or update of strategic Space Planning documentation and vision, both internal and external-facing
  • Build and maintain relationships with HUSA CatDev and Sales Teams and their respective channels and customers
  • Conduct analysis of the selling space in the form of assortment opportunities and space-to-sales indices
  • Act as a validator for beer category resets for many major National and Regional Chain accounts
  • Focus on business development and additional distribution gains with HUSA National, Regional, and Independent Accounts
  • Collaborate with various customers and distributor teams to sell in HUSA Category Development vision
  • Collaborate with HUSA Brand and Marketing teams to develop and communicate placement strategies for Innovation, package changes, or line extensions
  • Seek opportunities to drive efficiencies in HUSA's Space Planning processes and capabilities through D&T collaboration, AI adoption, and other emerging technologies


Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of space planning experience required
  • Advanced skills in JDA/Blue Yonder Space Planning and Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of and exposure to the role of Category Management
  • Experience writing planograms or reading/utilizing them to understand assortment and shelf strategy
  • Full understanding of the retailer assortment process
  • Understanding of sales value drivers
  • Experience with syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI, Spectra, Household Panel) and consumer insights
  • Strong analytical and technical skills required
  • Ability to lead multiple projects
  • Strong communication and training skills


Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000 + Annual Bonus
