Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end order-to-cash cycle, including contract intake, usage data, invoicing, collections support, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable
Lead revenue recognition for usage- and consumption-based arrangements involving variable consideration, minimum commitments, overages, tiered pricing, true-ups, and other complex structures
Prepare and maintain technical ASC 606 accounting documentation and revenue recognition memos
Lead monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, revenue schedules, subledger activity, and variance analysis
Oversee billing accuracy, invoice preparation, customer inquiries, dispute resolution, and related collections support
Serve as the primary revenue and billing contact for external audits
Support revenue-related internal controls, SOX readiness, and broader financial reporting initiatives
Identify and automate manual billing and revenue accounting processes
Lead billing automation initiatives across multiple products and business lines
Partner with Finance, Revenue Operations, Sales, Legal, Data, and systems teams to improve upstream data quality and billing accuracy
Review deal structures and contractual terms to determine appropriate billing and revenue treatment
Improve utilization of existing finance and reporting systems
Support accounting system enhancements, integrations, and process redesign
Build scalable data and reporting structures to improve revenue visibility and operational reporting
Manage and develop a team of revenue and accounts receivable professionals
Maintain and enhance revenue accounting and billing policies as products, pricing models, and business lines evolve
Drive process improvement, automation, and adoption of AI-enabled tools across accounting workflows
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA required
8+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience
At least 2 years of accounting leadership or direct staff management experience
Deep ASC 606 expertise required
SaaS industry experience required
