While formal on-the-job experience with Al is a plus, we highly value candidates who have proactively incorporated Al into their personal projects, explored Al-driven development environments (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), or built automations using Al agents. About the Role:

We're hiring a Senior Manager, Product Manager to lead our Spend Controls Team within the Employee Spend pillar of Business Cards & Payments. Employee Spend owns the end-to-end job of helping small business owners put spending power in their employees' hands without losing control over how it's used, spanning everything from card issuance and policy setup, to real-time spend oversight, to expense reconciliation. Spend Controls owns the "oversee and control" half of that job: pre-authorization spend limits, virtual card controls (VCN), category and merchant-level policies, and the real-time decisioning that determines whether a transaction should go through before it ever clears. This is one of our most strategically important investment areas. It’s a core capability that differentiates Capital One's small business card products from competitors who only offer post-purchase expense review, and it's a foundational building block for our next-generation small business cards and software.

In this role, You'll lead a team of product managers and analysts driving our pre-auth spend controls roadmap, our card management and VCN strategy, and the technical migration of our spend-limit decisioning platform onto modern infrastructure. You'll partner closely with engineering, design, risk, and our Enterprise platform partners to ship controls that actually change customer behavior - not just policies that exist on paper. This role reports to the Director of Product, Employee Spend, and sits alongside a peer Expense Management team; the two teams share a single roadmap and prioritization forum, since the differentiated customer experience we're building depends on both halves working as one connected product.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
  • A Bachelor's or Master69;s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field), Business or Marketing

OR

• Bachelor's degree in any field and at least 4 years of Product Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate69;s offer letter.
