Job Summary and QualificationsThe Senior Manager, Portfolio supports the strategic management and execution of the pharmacy product portfolio, ensuring the accuracy, competitiveness, and operational effectiveness of contracted products across the organization. This role partners closely with the Senior Director of Contracting to support key contracting categories, including vaccines, plasma, and pharmaceutical distribution. The Senior Manager drives portfolio optimization by overseeing product lifecycle activities, analyzing market and pricing trends, and ensuring contract and portfolio changes are implemented accurately and efficiently to support business objectives.
In addition to portfolio oversight, the Senior Manager provides leadership and guidance to Pharmacy Portfolio Managers, fostering consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team. The role oversees all portfolio maintenance activities, including product and pricing updates, new product additions, product removals, contract implementation, and ongoing portfolio integrity. Working cross-functionally with Contracting, Operations, Clinical leads and other stakeholders, the Senior Manager ensures timely execution of portfolio initiatives, resolves complex issues, and identifies opportunities to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency, and maximize value for customers and the organization.
What you will do in this role includes:- Create, validate, and adapt contracting strategies in collaboration with clinicians, executives, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational objectives for assigned categories.
- Analyze portfolio performance and business metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational or financial improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of contract awards, amendments, renewals, and pricing changes within portfolio management systems.
- Oversee contract implementation with supplier and communication of contract implementation to HealthTrust account management.
- Develop and implement standardized processes, controls, and best practices to improve portfolio governance and operational consistency.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Including but not limited to: resolving customer issues (pricing, LOCS, product complaints, etc.)
What qualifications you will need:- Accredited College Bachelor's Degree - Required
- 3+ years' experience with sourcing / contract / portfolio management OR account management of a client where duties include implementation or support related to a contract portfolio - Required
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree - Preferred
- Experience with pharmacy and/or physician clinics - Preferred
