Job Purpose
The Director of U.S. Export Compliance will be a key member of the global International Trade Compliance (ITC)team, reporting to the Senior Director, International Trade Compliance or General Counsel. The Senior Directorwill be responsible for the day-to-day direction and management of the company's U.S. export complianceprogram, including compliance with ITAR, EAR and OFAC laws and regulations. The Director will manage a smallteam of remote export compliance analysts.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
Ensure that documented policies and procedures are in place for the corporate Export Compliance Program, as required under the ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations.
  • Determine and implement new procedures as needed to address regulatory changes andemerging export compliance risks.
  • Develop and implement effective communication, training plans and compliance tools for allaspects of U.S. export compliance.
  • Act as primary liaison to U.S. plant managers and site export compliance officers; providecompliance support and oversight for all U.S. export-related activities.
  • Interface with plant personnel, customers and suppliers to manage and maintain a database ofexport and tariff classifications.
  • Oversee customer and transaction screening programs; review and resolve any screeningescalations or red flags in consultation with Legal.
  • Manage the technology control program and conduct deemed export reviews.
  • Submit classification requests and license applications to the Commerce Department (BIS) andState Department (ITAR) as required; manage DDTC registration, notifications and reporting.
  • Support the Senior Director, International Trade Compliance or General Counsel on specialprojects, such as mergers and acquisition due diligence and voluntary disclosures.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8years of experience in U.S. export compliance, including managing a corporate ExportCompliance Program for a global manufacturing company
  • Minimum 8years people management experience, including leading, motivating and managing remotestaff
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations, including emerging issues andchallenges for U.S. exporters
  • Strong jurisdiction/classification skills across the U.S. Munitions List and the EAR Control List
  • Experience in developing and implementing trade compliance automation and tools
  • Experience in non-U.S. export control regimes desired
  • Adaptable and flexible; ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information efficiently and to translate regulatoryrequirements to operational processes
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and drive cross-functional projects
  • Strong data analytic skills; adept in use of ACE
  • Strong Excel skills; Oracle experience preferred
