POSITION TITLE:
Senior Manager of Packaging Technology
POSITION DUTIES:
Oversee and manage the packaging development process, and ensure all packaging equipment and facilities are maintained, resulting in minimal downtime, and maximized production output. Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving design, material, and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions. Work closely with departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation to ensure equipment meets operational, safety, and food safety standards. Maintain adherence to packaging, and electrical regulations, and provide leadership in plant safety initiatives related to equipment. Lead initiatives to improve packaging procedures, and implement new innovations, equipment longevity, and overall efficiency of the plant's packaging machinery. Recommend capital expenditures for equipment and oversee the financial budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to the annual spending plan. Lead the creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for packaging equipment maintenance, parts inventory, and other related functions. Provide coaching, mentorship, and direction to the packaging and maintenance team, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks. Lead packaging CMMS implementation and system utilization within the department. Ensure the system is used to achieve key KPIs related to preventative maintenance, work orders, budget attainment, and inventory tracking. Responsible for compliance regarding all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure finished products comply with food safety and quality specifications. Participate in the yearly review of the food safety system. Assist in maintaining SQF and other food safety and quality system requirements. Embrace an action-oriented, flexible, and innovative approach to packaging management, anticipating equipment and operational issues before they arise and addressing them proactively. Exhibit analytical thinking in diagnosing equipment and facility issues, making decisive choices that prioritize the plant's operational efficiency, product quality, and safety. Prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring that packaging maintenance schedules are adhered to, and downtime is minimized. Lead and manage packaging department objectives to ensure maximum productivity. Leverage extensive packaging experience in packaging equipment and people development, ensuring that machinery is updated, efficient, and in line with industry best practices. Demonstrate strong interpersonal leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and open communication within the packaging team. Display flexibility in decision-making, adapting to unexpected challenges, and finding efficient solutions to equipment/maintenance issues. Prioritize building and maintaining relationships not only within the Packaging department team but also with other departments, vendors, and contractors to ensure cohesive operations.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering or related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
7 years of experience in the position offered or related occupation.

$172,078 per year
