The Senior Manager, Maintenance and Facilities, provides leadership for all maintenance and facilities supporting the Sacramento site. This leader is accountable for maximizing asset reliability, equipment availability, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle performance while ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations and located on-site in Sacramento, CA, this role is part of the Operations Leadership Team and partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, EHS and Supply Chain to develop and execute long-term asset strategies that improve operational performance, reduce risk, and support future business growth.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to do:- Build and sustain a high-performing maintenance organization through leadership, coaching, talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
- Drive equipment reliability to maximize equipment uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance programs by utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), predictive analytics, and condition monitoring technologies.
- Work with the Facility Manager to oversee facilities operations including HVAC, utilities, plumbing, compressed air, chilled water, building infrastructure, and office facilities to ensure uninterrupted site operations.
- Champion the adoption of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing, Reliability Excellence, and Continuous Improvement initiatives that eliminate losses, improve asset performance, and increase manufacturing capacity.
- Develop annual operating budgets and multi-year facility capital investment plans while effectively managing maintenance labor, contractors, service agreements, inventory, and capital expenditures.
- Drive sustainability and energy optimization initiatives that improve operational efficiency while reducing operating costs and environmental impact.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, environmental, and corporate standards while maintaining inspection readiness across all maintenance and facilities activities.
The essential requirements of the job include- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial) or related field.
- Several years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance, engineering, or operations preferably within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics, or life sciences environment.
- Strong knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, reliability engineering, preventive and predictive maintenance, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix, Infor, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, capital projects, contractors, and external service providers.
- Strong understanding of GMP regulations, FDA requirements, quality systems, and regulated manufacturing environments.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:- Ability to travel ~ 10-15% to US manufacturing sites and supplier locations as business needs require.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:- Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Knowledge of digital maintenance technologies and Industry 4.0 applications.

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $165,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
