Job Title: Senior Manager, Insurance Portfolio Delivery - Actuarial P&C

Oliver Wyman is searching for an experienced professional to join our Property & Casualty Actuarial Consulting Practice as a Senior Manager. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery portfolio of insurance consulting projects and holds a critical leadership role focused on ensuring that multiple insurance-related initiatives are successfully planned, executed, and aligned with the client's strategic goals. . Our clients include large corporations, captive insurance companies, state regulators, and P&C insurance companies. The candidate will collaborate with senior colleagues to lead client interactions and maintain a strong presence with Oliver Wyman's exciting and diverse client portfolios.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Expertise to manage a wide range of projects, with primary focus in the insurance space with a specialization in transformation. Opportunities to explore work in other areas as interests and needs allow.
  • Demonstrated autonomy and minimal principal involvement while managing workload. Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day project management and effectively handle client communications.
  • Review colleagues' work to ensure it is accurate, clear, and meets high-quality standards across various proposals, deliverables, and presentations. Help manage the training, development, and mentoring of junior staff on project teams.
  • Create presentations and written reports to present findings and solutions to clients.
  • Become a driving contributor in client meetings as warranted.
  • Support and drive, as appropriate, business development efforts. Maintain strong client relationships for further business development activities, including preparation of proposals and presentations for prospective clients.


Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • Extensive actuarial and/or data & analytics experience in the property & casualty industry, through either working as an employee of an insurance company, consulting with an insurance company or combination of the industries.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects in a demanding work environment.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to address complex client-oriented problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communications skills.
  • A strong collaborator with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Ability to manage a heavy work volume and meet deliverables in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, showing strong initiative, confidence. and the ability to lead a team.
  • Deep critical-thinking skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced proficiency and command of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with R, SAS, SQL, VBA or other programming languages is preferred.
  • Oversee governance, resource allocation, risk management, and financial tracking to ensure projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and comply with industry regulations.

Serve as the main liaison for senior leadership and stakeholders, providing clear communication on portfolio status, risks and outcomes.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $200,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, exams, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position will be eligible for performance-based incentives.
