We're looking for a
Sr. Manager/Director, People Operations to join us. You will be an integral member of our leadership team and will be a trusted partner to the C-Suite and department heads. You will lead the People Team and set strategy to retain, recruit, and reward talent at MeUndies. You will also drive initiatives that reinforce company values and create a best-in-class employee experience.
Please note that this is a hybrid position of 4 days/week in our Los Angeles office.What You'll DoPeople Operations & Compliance- Own HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding, leave administration, performance management, employee relations, etc.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and handbook updates.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and workplace requirements.
- Oversee independent contractor agreements and related documentation, ensuring appropriate classification, compliance, and ongoing administration.
- Manage HR compliance, audits, filings, training, and safety requirements.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employee and manager questions.
- Partner with legal counsel on employment matters as needed.
HR Operations, Payroll & Benefits- Serve as the HR owner and subject matter expert for Rippling and other people-related systems.
- Partner with Accounting on payroll administration, including timekeeping, PTO, employee changes, and payroll reconciliation.
- Own benefits administration, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), COBRA, and FSA.
- Manage relationships with benefits, payroll, HRIS, and other People vendors.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR data, and reporting.
Employee Relations & Manager Support- Manage employee relations matters, investigations, performance concerns, and workplace issues.
- Coach managers on performance, communication, employee engagement, and policy application.
- Partner with leadership and legal counsel on complex employee matters.
- Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies.
Talent Acquisition & Performance- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, hiring roadmaps, and priorities.
- Own and improve recruiting processes and manage external recruiting partners.
- Manage and evaluate agency support, including search strategy, vendor relationships, recruiting fees, and performance.
- Support hiring managers with job descriptions, interview processes, and hiring decisions.
- Own performance management processes, including goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews.
- Partner with managers on employee development, performance improvement, and career growth.
Culture & Employee Experience- Support employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives.
- Partner with leadership and managers to improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
- Use employee feedback and engagement data to identify opportunities and inform people strategies.
Office, Facilities & Workplace Operations- Manage and oversee the Office Manager, ensuring effective day-to-day office operations and employee support.
- Oversee workplace operations, facilities, office services, supplies, vendors, and building management.
- Manage relationships with landlords, property management, maintenance providers, security, and other workplace vendors.
- Oversee office policies, workplace procedures, emergency preparedness, and safety requirements.
- Support office moves, renovations, events, and other workplace projects as needed.
IT & Technology Support- Serve as the primary point of coordination for employee IT and technology needs, partnering with external IT providers as appropriate.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding technology processes, including hardware, software, system access, and account provisioning.
- Manage and ensure timely resolution of employee technology issues.
- Partner with leadership on technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, data protection, and access management.
- Maintain processes for company equipment, asset tracking, and technology inventory.
- Support implementation and administration of technology platforms that enable employee productivity and business operations.
What You Have- 7+ years of progressive experience in this field, including prior experience leading a People Operations function as an executive team member at a company with more than 50 employees.
- Ability to think strategically but also focus on tactical and operational issues.
- A track record of building strong, effective teams of people with complementary skills.
- Leadership experience developing talent management functions such as diversity and inclusion, learning and development, succession planning and performance management.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels - with the CEO, leadership team, board of directors, and team members.
- Experience working in a start-up culture is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Organization Development or Human Resources preferred
The base salary range for this full-time position is $145,000 -$212,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the base salary range provided in this posting does not include any bonus, equity, or benefits you may be eligible for.
