Role title: Senior Linux Engineer (Cloud)
Location: Remote
Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Linux Engineer with strong experience in Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, automation, and production support. The role will be responsible for managing enterprise Linux environments across on-premises and cloud platforms while ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer and support RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu environments.
• Manage Linux server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Support cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure.
• Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Deploy and support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Collaborate with application, network, and cloud teams on infrastructure initiatives.
Required Skills
• 7+ years of Linux Administration experience (RHEL preferred)
• AWS and/or Azure Cloud
• Shell Scripting (Bash) and Python
• Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Linux Patching, Hardening, and Security
• Production Support and Troubleshooting
Compensation: We are offering between $115,000 - $133,000. Applications will be accepted until Oct 30, 2026.Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in US without requiring employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
