Qualifications

• 15 years of complex architectural design experience; containment lab design knowledge preferred.
• Licensed Architect in Ontario; additional provincial licensing is a plus.
• Experience leading architectural projects and teams; strong mentoring background.
• Proficient in BIM software, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam/Adobe.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to engage effectively with clients and staff.
• Accountable for project execution, including profit/loss management and quality control.
• Must be a Canadian permanent resident or citizen, with an ability and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of architects, fostering professional development for junior staff.
• Oversee all design aspects including planning, programming, and producing construction documents.
• Execute project management tasks, ensuring quality control and adherence to schedules.
• Engage in business development activities to promote Merrick and secure new projects.
• Communicate effectively with clients, technical leads, and project management teams.
• Provide leadership in a multi-discipline work environment, guiding the architectural design process.
• Ensure compliance with current building codes and laboratory design guidelines.
