SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Nashville, TN

Role Summary

We are seeking a driven, collaborative Senior Landscape Architect to lead the site vision for a major Tech Campus Development while helping expand our interdisciplinary landscape architecture practice.

You will bridge high-level ecological and site design with our in-house civil engineering and environmental teams. From conceptual master planning to final construction administration, you will serve as a key leader managing project delivery, client relationships, and team mentorship.

Minimum Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
  • Licensure: Registered Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license required (or local state registration with ability to obtain reciprocity within 1 year).
  • 8-12 years of progressive project management experience in landscape architecture, with demonstrated success on tech/corporate campuses, urban plazas, land development, or large-scale civil/environmental projects.

Technical & Software Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and 3D Modeling (Rhino, Revit).
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D, GIS, and project management/scheduling tools is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, detailing, plant materials, and field observation.
  • Soft Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication, executive presentation abilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Travel: Ability to travel periodically to project sites and client meetings as required.


Expected Outcomes
  • Project Management & Tech Campus Delivery
    • End-to-End Design Execution: Direct multidisciplinary project teams from initial concept development through Construction Documents (CDs) and Construction Administration (CA).
    • Technical CD Production: Oversee the generation of detailed CD packages, including hardscape, planting, grading, drainage, specs, and bidding documentation.
    • Scope & Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, optimize resource allocation, track billing, and manage scope changes to ensure project profitability and timely milestone delivery.
  • Multi-Practice & Civil Engineering Integration
    • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Partner directly with in-house civil engineers and environmental scientists to seamlessly integrate sustainable stormwater management, green infrastructure, and ecological design into site plans.
    • Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC): Perform rigorous QA/QC reviews to ensure all design packages meet firm standards, environmental regulations, local codes, and client specifications.
  • Client Leadership & Practice Growth
    • Tech Client Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for tech campus stakeholders, converting complex engineering and environmental data into clear design narratives and executive presentations.
    • Business Development Support: Assist in building key industry relationships, drafting RFQ responses, creating scopes of work, and developing project fee proposals.
  • Mentorship & Team Leadership
    • Staff Development: Supervise, guide, and mentor junior landscape architects and technical staff, fostering a positive, growth-oriented culture of trust and collaboration.
    • Resource Optimization: Balance workload distribution to build an efficient, highly motivated team environment.
