Our GFL team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to join us in Vaughan! In this role, you’ll play a vital part in designing and implementing high-quality software solutions and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
A “Day in the Life" of a Senior Java Developer:
Work with a team of developers in designing and implementing software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Kotlin, ensuring alignment with best practices and coding standards.
Partner with cross-functional teams to translate project requirements into technical specifications and architecture designs that meet business needs.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies, identify areas for improvement, implement solutions and enhance product quality.
Oversee code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement performance optimizations to ensure robust, maintainable solutions.
Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the team, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with minimum 7 years of experience as a Java developer, specializing in Spring Boot within agile environments.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin programming language and a solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, combined with the ability to communicate effectively and work well with diverse teams.
Familiarity with AWS cloud platform and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) will be nice to have.
