Full Job Description
Ballentine Partners is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Investment Advisor to join our growing Investments team. The Senior Investment Advisor is responsible for independently developing investment strategy and delivering the investment value proposition in conjunction with Senior Client Advisors.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the investment side of assigned client engagements, partnering with Senior Client Advisors to develop and deliver investment strategies aligned with each client's goals, objectives, and risk tolerance.
  • Hold discovery discussions with clients to ascertain their goals, objectives, and risk tolerance.
  • Actively participate in prospective client situations to present Ballentine Partners' investment value proposition.
  • Manage the work of junior team members assigned to client engagements, including reviewing and approving rebalancing, trade plans, and tax loss harvesting strategies.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the investment group.
  • Ensure compliance mandates are met for assigned clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong knowledge of investments and portfolio management.
  • Possess a broad understanding of multiple asset classes and securities markets.
  • Have the ability to interface with clients at all knowledge levels and provide investment advice involving large, complex situations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Possess strong math skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong client orientation.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently.


A Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or a quantitative science is required, and a CFA is preferred. A minimum of 12 years of experience in investment management, financial services, or investment research is required.

Ballentine Partners compensation is made up of a base salary and performance bonus. The salary for this position starts at $180k - $265k base commiserate with experience and is commensurate with experience. Performance bonuses are based upon company and personal performance and are paid out annually.
