Under the direction of the Regional Manager, Maintenance Technical Services, the Senior Inspector is responsible for conducting technical inspections of accident-related and maintenance repairs; reviewing, evaluating, and presenting repair estimates; coordinating parts procurement for maintenance and collision repairs; and inspecting, designing, and overseeing the fabrication of parts, tools, and related equipment. Administer, monitor and supervise vendor compliance to Pace-issued contracts regarding bus collision and maintenance repairs. Manage all warranty and non-warranty repairs to bus body and structure performed by outside vendors. Essential functions include:
Working closely with supply information for Materials Management, Purchasing, Legal and Safety departments.
Monitoring practices at several vendor locations ensuring that all repairs are performed according to Pace standards.
Assisting personnel in enforcing contract requirements with respect to current duties while assisting in the diagnosis of vehicle problems.
Coordinating bus movements/repairs between divisions/vendors and assists, guides, and trains maintenance personnel.
Write specifications and review contract proposals and assist in the development of technical specifications.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Age:
21+
Education:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of eight (8) years in heavy-duty collision repair and body & diesel maintenance and estimate preparation.
Certifications:
Must have or obtain, within 90 days of being hired, a valid "B" Commercial Driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements and the ability to operate Pace equipment.
Proficiencies:
Must demonstrate intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
Must have strong customer service skills and be detail-oriented. Must have experience managing vendor relationships.
Must be proficient in computer skills required for teaching, research and record keeping.
Must be able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires sitting for extended periods, typing on a computer, and attending meetings. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Working Conditions:
This position is based in an office setting, with standard office equipment, including a computer, phone, and desk space. Work is also performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to inclement weather, toxic fumes, moving mechanical parts and loud noises. The candidate is required to travel to Pace project sites within the six-county region, and travel outside the region as needed. This position is not eligible for a hybrid work schedule or remote work.

E5 Full Salary Range: $70,902-$154,928
Salary Midpoint: $112,915
Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $91,908-$112,915
