Role Description:We are seeking a
Senior Industrial Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Industrial Wastewater Treatment team in Syracuse, NY. This is a unique opportunity to lead impactful projects across North America, working on cutting-edge treatment technologies that help industrial clients achieve sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence.
As a technical leader, you'll play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and implementation of advanced industrial wastewater treatment systems-from concept and feasibility studies through construction, commissioning, and long-term operations support. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor emerging talent, and help shape the future of industrial water solutions.
Role Accountabilities:As a Senior Industrial Wastewater Engineer, you will play a critical role in the planning, design, and delivery of sophisticated treatment solutions for industrial facilities across diverse sectors. You will also:
- Lead the technical delivery of complex industrial wastewater treatment projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from studies and design through startup and commissioning.
- Develop innovative treatment solutions utilizing physical, chemical, biological, membrane, filtration, adsorption, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization technologies.
- Partner with multidisciplinary engineering, environmental, and construction teams to deliver integrated, high-performance solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and designers while fostering professional growth across the team.
- Develop and strengthen strategic client relationships, identify opportunities for growth, contribute to business development initiatives, and support proposal development, client presentations, and project pursuits.
- Drive project success through effective planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost estimating, quality management, and risk mitigation.
Key Skills and Experience:We're looking for someone with deep expertise in industrial wastewater treatment processes, technologies, and system design, and a proven track record of delivering complex industrial water projects for a diverse range of industrial clients. You possess strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, coupled with the emotional intelligence needed to influence project teams, mentor developing engineers, and establish trusted partnerships with clients and stakeholders.
You have demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary projects from concept through implementation, including technical design, project execution, capital and operations and maintenance cost estimating, scheduling, work planning, and quality management. Beyond project delivery, you are recognized as a strategic thinker who understands client business objectives, industry trends, regulatory drivers, and emerging treatment technologies, enabling you to identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support business growth.

Qualifications:Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 10 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in one or more states
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field
- 14 years of industrial wastewater treatment experience

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $126,720 - $184,140. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
