Summary:The position is responsible for managing the engineering CapEx requests and related functions at our Carol Stream facility while advising our domestic manufacturing facilities on engineering requests as needed. The successful candidate will drive a lean organization that is cost-effective while providing our employees with a safe, positive, and engaging work environment. This position includes the possibility of leadership as the role progresses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Productivity
- Plan and develop CapEx proposals that would optimize production processes and throughput
- Manage and optimize the monthly Engineering CapEx Report and key performance indicators (KPI's),
- Work closely with the Maintenance team when prioritizing, planning, and scheduling capital projects and contractor visits
- Develop standards operating procedures (SOP's) and train personnel accordingly
- Lead and support the execution of capital projects as necessary
- Leadership
- Provide consistent leadership in managing people and providing all employees with a positive, engaging work environment.
- Future Growth
- Assist in developing long-term capital plans and provide guidance on future needs
- Monitor staffing and develop training and development plans to meet future needs
- Complete performance reviews and all other documentation requirements in a timely and professional manner.

Required Education and/or Experience:- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience within Project Engineering, demonstrating a successful track record with increased responsibilities.
- Working knowledge and/or specialized technical training in construction permits and industrial systems and processes, including but not limited to electrical power, controls, boilers, compressors, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, welding, ingredients, and PLC.
Required Skills/Abilities:- Ability to verbally communicate in a concise and succinct manner with all levels throughout the organization.
- Strong English writing skills.
- Strong mathematical, spreadsheet, presentation, and CAD skills. The utilization of data to drive change will be imperative.
- Ability to make educated judgments on the correctness, accuracy, and appropriateness of information. Must be able to organize, prioritize, and make decisions.
- Must be able to create and maintain systems from both an overview and a detailed aspect on multiple projects, providing reminders of things coming up, administering tasks between parties (with direction), and creating and maintaining files on various projects.
- Must continually demonstrate a strong attention to detail, careful execution of tasks, and regularly check own work before submitting as drafted or completed.
Travel: As needed, up to 10%
