Full Job Description
ABOUT THE JOB

At Anduril, our Industrial Engineers are the architects of scalability, taking cutting-edge defense hardware-including static equipment, moving ground systems, sensors, undersea, and flight vehicles-and transforming them into mature, high-rate production realities across our multi-site footprint, including Arsenal-1. You will step into a fast-paced environment, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to build durable, centralized systems and single sources of truth rather than one-off analyses or static drawings. We are seeking talented Industrial Engineers with deep expertise in one or a combination of our core capabilities: enterprise labor standards and work measurement, 2D/3D factory layout and material flow design, or discrete event simulation and operations research.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Architect Scalable Industrial Engineering Systems: Build, govern, and scale long-lived enterprise capabilities-establishing centralized repositories and single sources of truth for labor content, factory layouts, or stochastic capacity models across production sites.
  • Establish Labor Standards & Work Measurement: Define and lead defensible time study methodologies (e.g., MODAPTS, MTM, stopwatch, video analysis), manage labor content maturity through NPI and Engineering Change Order (ECO) lifecycles, and integrate validated times directly into Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to drive line balancing and staffing models.
  • Design & Optimize Factory Footprints: Architect data-driven 2D/3D manufacturing line layouts, cellular configurations (U-cells, one-piece flow), and ergonomic workstations using factory CAD tools; curate standardized CAD shape libraries; and design integrated material flow systems (kitting strategies, line-side delivery) in close collaboration with Facilities and Real Estate.
  • Model Capacity, Bottlenecks & Capital ROI: Develop dynamic Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models and automated data pipelines (Python/SQL) to stress-test production ramps, identify throughput constraints, and deliver quantified ROI trade-off analyses for major capital investments.
  • Bridge Design & Operations: Connect validated industrial engineering data to operational decision-making, partnering cross-functionally with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to de-risk production scale-up.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience & Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, or a related field, with 6+ years of progressive experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Specialized Core Competency: Demonstrated deep technical strength in at least one (or a combination) of the following tracks:
    • Labor Standards: Proven proficiency in formal time study techniques (MODAPTS, MTM, predetermined motion systems, stopwatch, video analysis, PFD allowance determination) and integrating standards into MES/ERP systems.
    • Layouts & Spatial Planning: Hands-on expertise with factory CAD layout tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Factory CAD/Flow, Bluebeam), manufacturing cell design, space utilization metrics, and material flow design.
    • Simulation & Operations Research: Hands-on expertise with Discrete Event Simulation platforms (e.g., Siemens Plant Simulation, FlexSim, Simio, AnyLogic, Arena, SimPy), stochastic modeling, and Python/SQL programming for data pipelines.
  • System Longevity & Adoption: A proven track record of building tools, templates, or governance systems that operational teams actively maintained and adopted, moving organizations away from fragmented spreadsheets.
  • Cross-Functional Communication & Ambiguity: Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and translate complex technical, spatial, or statistical analyses into clear, defensible recommendations for non-technical decision-makers.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
