ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Do
Design around industrial operations. Develop architectural solutions that address production workflows, personnel and material movement, maintenance access, durability, and flexibility for future operational changes.
Coordinate across disciplines. Integrate architectural design with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, fire protection, and process engineering requirements, resolving interfaces between building systems and production equipment.
Guide code compliance and life safety. Evaluate applicable building codes, occupancy classifications, allowable building areas, fire-resistance requirements, egress, and accessibility in coordination with other project disciplines.
Manage scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Take responsibility for architectural deliverables, construction cost estimating, budget adherence, quality control, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Serve as architect in responsible charge. Sign and seal drawings and documents prepared personally or under your responsible charge, as defined by the applicable jurisdiction.
Resolve complex technical challenges. Apply specialized architectural knowledge to unique industrial requirements, existing facility constraints, and construction phasing within operating facilities.
Lead and mentor project staff. Plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of architects and architectural designers assigned to your projects.
Build strong client relationships. Lead client meetings, clarify operational and facility requirements, resolve significant design questions, and coordinate project decisions with internal and external stakeholders.
Support construction execution. Evaluate materials, equipment, manufacturer quality, and field construction for conformance with project requirements; accept or reject major items within the architectural scope.
Contribute to business development. Help define project scope, prepare contract proposals, and participate in client presentations.
Exercise professional judgment. Work independently within broad project objectives, with administrative supervision.
