Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical asset engineer for assigned ID&C systems, including instrumentation, data acquisition, facility controls, and associated hardware/software interfaces.
Maintain awareness of asset condition, operational readiness, obsolescence, reliability issues, maintenance needs, and modernization priorities.
Develop and prioritize lifecycle sustainment, repair, replacement, and upgrade requirements in coordination with engineering, maintenance, test operations, project management, and customer organizations.
Establish and maintain technical baselines, system documentation, drawings, requirements, configuration records, and operating constraints for assigned assets.
Support test planning and execution by ensuring ID&C assets are configured, available, and capable of meeting test-specific measurement, control, and data-quality requirements.
Identify technical risks, single points of failure, and capability gaps; recommend practical mitigation strategies and investment priorities.
Lead or support system troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and post-test lessons learned.
Review proposed modifications, upgrades, and work packages for technical adequacy, integration impacts, maintainability, safety, and compatibility with existing facility systems.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external customers to communicate asset status, requirements, risks, schedules, and resource needs.
Support development of long-range plans for ID&C modernization, standardization, and sustainment across assigned facilities or test capabilities
