This Opportunity

WSP is initiating a search for a Senior Hydrogeologist in our Shelton, Connecticut or Valhalla, New York office. Join our Earth & Environment Team and contribute to projects that help clients achieve their objectives and address complex challenges. In this role, the Senior Hydrogeologist will provide senior-level technical support and guidance with collecting samples from various environmental media, implementing aquifer tests, and prepare water withdrawal permits. The successful candidate will work closely with major water suppliers, municipalities and developers in the northeast.

Your Impact
  • Continue and help further build a longstanding water supply business
  • Steward water-supply projects from beginning to end meeting client needs and meet project quality and financial goals
  • Supervise, mentor and train junior staff
  • Guide aquifer tests and follow all regulatory requirements associated with those tests
  • Data analysis and interpretation to determine the next course of action
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, records, and retention.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant water supply withdrawal laws, regulations, compliance practices, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Experience implementing and managing aquifer pumping tests.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and professionally to scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Demonstrated self-leadership, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members while maintaining strict QA/QC standards.
  • High proficiency with technical writing, office automation, communication software, technology, and related tools.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and ability to comply with WSP's health, safety, and harassment policies.
  • Moderate travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant Professional License (i.e. PG, CPG).
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health and Safety Training (HAZWOPER).

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $105,00 - $140,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
