Dewberry | Hydro is currently seeking an exceptional Senior Hydrogeologist in our Central Florida Water Market.  Position requires a degree in Geology (and/or hydrogeology). Master’s degree is preferred, and 15 – 20 years of directly related experience.

 

Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex research and provide technical expertise on assigned projects, including independent modeling of groundwater flow systems.
  • Understanding of the principles of groundwater-flow modeling; develops and applies complex groundwater flow and hydrologic models and, is familiar with and uses associated programs and processes. 
  • Demonstrates expertise in groundwater and surface-water hydrology, groundwater quality, water resource development, management, regulation, and geologic principles and practices.  
  • Provide recommendations regarding solutions to solve complex water management issues. Prepare and present solutions to a variety of audiences including policy makers.
  • Managing projects and contractors; development of specifications and construction management and oversight.
  • Identify, develop, and manage the delivery of solutions to our clients.
  • Manage regulatory agency communications.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and keeping up to date with technological and legislative developments.
  • Assist with writing proposals and maintaining client relationships.
  • Assist with junior staff mentoring, and team planning/development.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology. Master’s preferred.
  • The candidate must have 10+ years of progressive experience working with regulatory authorities and teams of engineers and scientists.
  • Working knowledge of hydrogeologic and groundwater flow principles
  • Working knowledge of groundwater flow models.
  • Strong statistical background.
  • Proficient in technical writing and presentations.
  • Capability and desire to assist in the development of new business with clients and teaming partners, utilizing existing and newly developed relationships.'
  • A working knowledge of Florida’s hydrogeology and environmental constraints would be preferred.
  • Computer modeling skills should include Numerical (FD & FE) modeling, MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas and other regional Florida regional groundwater models.
