Senior HRIS AnalystLocation
Boston, Chicago
Job Description
Overview of role: We are seeking a Senior HRIS Analyst to be the hands-on operator of Workday for our U.S. People Team. Payroll accuracy and data quality are the top priorities of this role, which owns all EIB processing (bulk hires, promotions, and salary changes), runs regular internal audits, pulls standard and custom reports, and corrects the errors those audits find.
This individual understands how a request moves through Workday, from request to approval, documentation, and action. They provide Tier 1 Workday support, explain how things work through SOPs, job aids, and change management, and challenge processes in the tool. They develop requirements, define and prioritize needs, and test changes and new functions in the tool and sandbox. They raise development needs to our internal Workday team, which builds and configures the system, and advocate for the U.S. People Team with that team.
The ideal candidate is precise, analytical, and confident acting on what they find. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of People for the U.S., does not have direct reports, and offers a clear growth path as our People Team and global systems footprint expand.
Responsibilities: - Own payroll accuracy and U.S. data quality, producing and validating the Workday reports Payroll needs before each cutoff.
- Run recurring internal audits, and document, share, and correct the errors found, or direct Shared Services to fix them.
- Own all EIB actions, including the four bulk hire pools each year, promotions, and salary changes, with pre- and post-load validation.
- Document U.S. Workday workflows from request through approval, documentation, and action, and test them regularly in the tool.
- Provide Tier 1 Workday support, resolving routine issues such as rescinding a termination date, and escalating the rest with full documentation.
- Write SOPs and job aids, explain how Workday is structured, and support change management for releases and process changes.
- Develop requirements, define and prioritize needs, and test workflow and functionality in the sandbox before changes and new functions go live.
- Log defects and development needs for the Workday team, and represent the U.S. People Team in prioritization.
- Pull standard Workday reports and custom L.E.K. reports, with cadence adjusted to current priorities.
- Benchmark HRIS data practices against SHRM guidance, Workday resources, and public sources, and coach Shared Services on correct processing.
Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience in an HRIS or operations role.
- Hands-on experience with Workday and ADP, including supporting payroll with Workday data and reports.
- Experience running EIB loads for hires, promotions, and salary changes, and correcting Workday transactions.
- Working knowledge of how Workday is structured, including organizations, positions, job profiles, and business processes.
- Experience providing Tier 1 Workday support, and writing SOPs, job aids, or change communications.
- Experience documenting and testing Workday business-process workflows, including approvals and routing.
- Experience running data audits and quality controls and acting on the errors found.
- Strong critical thinking skills, and agility in pivoting between competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Workday implementation experience preferred, and prioritized.
- Experience in a global company with multiple compliance controls preferred.
- Exposure to PMO-style change management preferred.
- 2+ years of Visio experience preferred, and highly valued.
- Workday Pro, SHRM, or HRCI certification preferred.
- Professional services or consulting industry experience preferred.
Additional Information: - The expected base salary range for this position is $100,000-130,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
- L.E.K. Consulting offers a competitive total rewards package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with employer contribution, HSA contributions (where applicable), paid time off, and other firm-sponsored benefits.
- This role is based in Boston or Chicago and follows our hybrid work model for U.S. offices. We require employees to be in their assigned home office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week, as well as the first Friday of each month.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
