Responsibilities
Provide Federal retirement and benefits counseling and processing, including complex and unique cases involving FERS, CSRS, FEHB, FEGLI, FEDVIP, FSA, LTC, survivor benefits, and death benefits.
Provide expert one-on-one retirement and benefits counseling to employees at all levels, including SES and Political Appointees.
Conduct and support retirement planning seminars covering FERS, CSRS, RAE/FRAE, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), Social Security, and long-term retirement planning.
Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations each pay period, providing guidance on benefits, pay, attendance and leave, working conditions, and required forms.
Coordinate Federal Benefits Open Season activities, including employee communications, marketing, and event logistics.
Conduct audits of Official Personnel Folders (OPFs) to identify and correct benefits and retirement issues involving FERCCA, Service Computation Dates (SCDs), military/civilian deposits, LWOP, and retirement coverage.
Provide subject matter expertise and technical guidance to Benefits Specialists and HR leadership on Federal retirement and benefits programs.
Requirements:
Federal Retirement & Benefits Experience: Experience counseling and processing Federal employee retirement and benefits actions, including FERS/CSRS, FEHB, FEGLI, TSP, survivor/death benefits, and complex retirement cases.
Federal Benefits Expertise: Strong knowledge of Federal retirement regulations and benefits programs, including experience providing employee counseling and reviewing/auditing OPFs for retirement, SCD, FERCCA, deposit, and benefits-related issues.
