Full Job Description
We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager or Senior Geotechnical Engineer 1 to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time, hybrid position located in our Seattle, WA office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:

  • Prepare and/or review written communications and technical deliverables.
  • Demonstrate and apply technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned tasks.
  • Leverage understanding of technical scopes of work for assigned work and their alignment with overall project objectives to deliver quality assignments.
  • Coach, mentor, and direct junior staff to ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, including field activities and preparation of technical reports and deliverables, while facilitating knowledge transfer for team development.
  • Use developing skills to be visible in your discipline by giving internal technical presentations and/or conference presentations and attending external networking events.
  • Lead technical evaluations and modeling/calculations related to geotechnical projects.
  • Play a leadership role in developing design drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct construction observation and oversee contractor management under the direction of the Engineer of Record, including quality control documentation and field testing tasks.
  • Plan and perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • 4 - 6+ years of related consulting experience with seismic, foundation design, support of excavation, and slope stability projects.
  • Professional registration in the State of WA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information.
  • Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership.
  • Specialized software applications relevant to geotechnical engineering.

Preferred Skills:
  • 2+ years of related Assistant Project Management and task management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with seismic, foundation design, support of excavation, and slope stability projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
  • Revit skills a plus.

The salary range for this position in Seattle, WA is $95,000 - $120,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market. This role is eligible this role is eligible to participate in the company's discretionary bonus program. This role may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus.
