Position Overview

A growing consulting firm serving nonprofit, philanthropic, and mission-driven organizations is seeking a Senior Consultant to support multiple concurrent client engagements. The role combines project management, client relationship management, fundraising strategy, research, analysis, communications, and high-quality deliverable execution. Level will be determined based on experience and readiness to independently lead client engagements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple client engagements and projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules, calendars, tasks, action items, and other planning tools to ensure timely completion.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting notes, follow-up items, project updates, and other materials that keep internal and external stakeholders aligned.
  • Develop, write, edit, and coordinate high-quality client deliverables including proposals, development plans, progress reports, donor communications, prospect research, presentations, and collateral.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, respond to client needs professionally, and build strong, trusted working relationships.
  • Research individual, foundation, and corporate donor prospects and prepare clear, actionable prospect profiles.
  • Review data, conduct analysis, identify key findings, and translate research into practical recommendations for clients.
  • Advise clients on fundraising, communications, operations, project execution, and management-related questions as appropriate to level and experience.
  • Coordinate internal and external contributors, follow up on deliverables, and maintain quality control across projects.
  • Support business development and client retention through excellent service, identification of client needs, proposal and pitch support, renewal discussions, and participation in selected conferences or events.
  • For Senior Consultant-level candidates, lead select client accounts and complex projects and provide training or mentoring support to junior team members.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of professional experience, including at least 1-2 years in fundraising, development, advancement, philanthropy, nonprofit consulting, or a closely related area.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit organizations, fundraising programs, donor engagement, or philanthropic institutions strongly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to create structure, manage competing priorities, and drive work forward with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare polished client-facing materials.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information and develop practical recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, donors, partners, or other external stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Ability to spend regular time in the Denver metro area office and participate in occasional travel for client meetings, conferences, or events.
