Full Job Description
The role
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build the core platform and product of Foresight.
You will build the systems that will enhance the ability for efficient delivery of large scale construction projects. You will design the APIs and data models that bring Foresight's risk predictions and AI recommendations into the product, and the interfaces that make 100k-activity projects understandable at a glance. This is a hands-on role on a new team, for someone who owns features from database to browser and builds systems that are accurate, scalable and observable.
At Foresight, full stack means you own the whole problem. You take complex, high-stakes project data and turn it into products that help teams deliver major projects on time. This could translate to work on:
Project intelligence: Build the interfaces and services that surface predicted delays, risk exposure and AI-recommended actions, so teams can act before problems land.
Schedule data teams can trust: Bring in data from the scheduling tools the industry runs on, keep a reliable history of every update, and show teams clearly what changed and why.
From findings to action: Build automated checks that catch problems early, and workflows that turn every finding into an owned, tracked action.
Reporting that tells the story: Create the reports, dashboards and exports that leaders and stakeholders use to understand where a project really stands.
Enterprise-grade foundations: Build sign-in, roles and permissions, and data isolation that meet the bar of the world's largest project owners and contractors.
What you'll do
Own features from technical design through release and beyond: measure adoption, learn and keep improving.
Work alongside ML engineers to turn new models into production features customers rely on.
Partner with product, design and customers to find the problems most worth solving.
Tune performance across the stack, from page load and rendering to query speed, API latency and uptime.
Raise the bar on architecture, testing, observability and how the team ships.
Help shape the product and technical roadmap.
Requirements
You might be a fit if you
Have 5+ years of experience building and shipping web products, with real ownership on both frontend and backend.
Are strong in Python on the backend (FastAPI, Django or similar) and strong TypeScript with React on the frontend.
Are solid at relational data modeling in Postgres: schema design, indexes, query plans, migrations, and an ORM such as SQLAlchemy.
Have experience with async work: queues, background jobs, retries, idempotency, and what happens when a worker dies halfway.
Are hands-on with AWS (S3, RDS, a managed queue or event service, containers or serverless).
Care about correctness in the details: money, permissions, concurrency, and multi-tenant data isolation.
Write tests and debug production issues from logs, metrics and traces, not guesses.
Have clear written communication and are comfortable making pragmatic trade-offs in a small team that moves fast.
Bonus points
You've shipped LLM features to production: retrieval over customer data, embeddings (pgvector or a search engine), evaluation, and keeping cost in check.
Experience with workflow orchestration for multi-step jobs (Temporal, Step Functions, Airflow or similar).
Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK) and CI/CD you've set up yourself.
You've worked on a legacy-to-modern migration, or on products for regulated enterprise or public-sector customers (SOC 2, data residency).
Early-stage or founding-team experience.
None of these are required. If the core of this role excites you, apply.
Benefits
Why join now
Real stakes, real customers. Real stakes, real customers. You won't be building for a hypothetical buyer. Owners and contractors are building now, on deadlines measured in revenue per day.
Blank canvas, solid ground. You get first-engineer level scope on a product that already has paying customers, real data and proven outcomes to tell.
Defining a category.Agentic software for physical infrastructure is a new category. What you build will become the standard.
Small, senior team. Flat, direct, low on process. We debate openly, decide quickly and ship.
Compensation and location
Total Comp: $180,000-230,000, based on experience, level, and location.
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO .
Location: New York, San Francisco, and Montreal are preferred. Occasional travel to may be required.
