Countybank is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Senior Financial Officer (SFO) to partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer and senior leadership team in guiding the financial direction of one of South Carolina's most diversified financial services organizations. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial Leadership
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team to support organizational strategy, financial performance, and long-term growth objectives and lead and equip employees and teams to success.
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Lead forecasting, financial modeling, budgeting support, profitability analysis, and scenario planning to guide business decisions.
Performance Improvement
- Analyze financial performance across business lines, markets, and customer segments, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency. Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement solutions that drive stronger financial and operational performance.
Capital and Balance Sheet Management
- Support capital planning, liquidity management, interest rate risk oversight, and balance sheet strategy to ensure long-term financial strength.
Executive and Board Reporting
- Prepare and communicate financial insights, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Strategic Initiatives
- Provide financial leadership and analytical support for growth initiatives, new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and organizational improvement efforts.
Financial Innovation
- Leverage technology, data analytics, dashboards, and performance metrics to improve decision making and organizational effectiveness.
Community and Industry Engagement
- Serve as a visible representative of Countybank through community involvement and professional engagement within the banking industry.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field required
- Master's degree preferred
- CPA preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, banking, financial analysis, treasury, audit, regulatory oversight, or related disciplines
- Experience within a financial institution, regulatory agency, or public accounting firm serving financial institutions strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial information and support strategic decision making
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, treasury management, regulatory reporting, audit, capital planning, or related financial functions
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting expertise
- Understanding of banking financial statements and performance drivers
- Knowledge of asset/liability management, capital management, and interest rate risk concepts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights
- Strong relationship-building and leadership capabilities
