Position SummaryThe Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of GT Independence's growing Financial Planning and Analysis and Treasury organization. This hands-on role supports budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, management reporting, and business partnership across a complex, multi-state organization.
Based on the selected candidate's experience and organizational needs, the position may focus on either Operating Finance and Gross Profit or Corporate FP&A and Treasury. The Senior Financial Analyst will help improve financial visibility, establish repeatable planning and reporting processes, and translate financial and operating data into actionable insights.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning and Analysis- Support the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, and multi-year financial planning.
- Develop and maintain driver-based financial models aligned with operating activity, headcount, rates, costs, and other key business assumptions.
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to gather, validate, and analyze budget and forecast inputs.
- Prepare forecast scenarios, sensitivities, supporting schedules, and updated outlooks.
- Analyze actual results against budget and forecast and identify material trends, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Maintain clear documentation, reconciliations, model controls, and version discipline.
Reporting and Business Partnership- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages, KPI reporting, variance analysis, and first-pass financial commentary.
- Participate in recurring budget-to-actual reviews with Operations or corporate department leaders.
- Translate complex financial and operating information into clear, practical insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Support monthly operating reviews, executive reporting, board materials, and other management reporting.
- Track action items and follow up on commitments arising from financial-performance reviews.
Potential Areas of FocusOperating Finance and Gross Profit- Analyze participant activity, revenue, cost of services, Gross Profit, and margin performance by state and contract.
- Support forecasts for participant volumes, rates, PMPM assumptions, labor, and other direct-cost drivers.
- Prepare budget-to-actual materials and financial insights for Operations leaders.
- Support pricing, renewals, implementations, contract amendments, and new-state profitability analyses.
- Partner with Operations, Business Development, and Implementation to identify risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
Corporate FP&A and Treasury- Support SG&A, corporate headcount, compensation, benefits, and departmental forecasting.
- Prepare SG&A budget-to-actual materials and support recurring reviews with functional leaders.
- Support enterprise consolidation, three-statement forecast schedules, model-to-GL tie-outs, and consolidated reporting.
- Prepare daily cash and liquidity reporting and maintain supporting schedules for the 13-week cash-flow forecast.
- Prepare cash forecast-to-actual analysis, working-capital schedules, and recurring lender-reporting support.
- Support treasury operations, bank administration, management reporting, and reporting automation under the direction of the Director of Finance / Head of Finance.
Process, Systems, and Data Improvement- Improve reporting processes, automate recurring analyses, and enhance data quality and availability.
- Support standardized planning templates, reporting calendars, review controls, and process documentation.
- Assist with enhancements to ERP, planning, reporting, and business-intelligence tools.
- Support contract-data inputs, profitability reporting, reconciliations, and source-to-GL validation.
- Identify appropriate opportunities to use technology and approved AI tools while maintaining financial review, controls, and business judgment.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, public accounting, transaction advisory, investment banking, or a related analytical finance role.
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and modeling, budgeting or forecasting, variance analysis, or management reporting.
- Strong Excel skills with experience developing, maintaining, or reviewing financial models.
- Working knowledge of the income statement, balance sheet, cash-flow statement, and the relationships among the three.
- Ability to analyze financial results and communicate insights clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred- Experience in healthcare services, Medicaid long-term services and supports, Financial Management Services, or another regulated service environment.
- Experience supporting multi-state, multi-location, or multi-entity operations.
- Experience in operating finance, gross-profit or margin analysis, corporate FP&A, treasury, cash forecasting, or lender reporting.
- Familiarity with planning, ERP, reporting, or business-intelligence tools such as Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Power BI, NetSuite, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with reporting automation, data governance, process improvement, or system implementation.
- Experience partnering directly with Operations or corporate department leaders.
