Summary:The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in driving manufacturing and financial analytics. The role will partner with the operations organization to analyze manufacturing costs, review inventory variances, as well as supporting plant processes (with a heavy focus on process improvement and building reporting capabilities). They will also work with the Sr. Leadership team to optimize manufacturing yields and customer profitability.
Primary Duties:
- Key business partner to Operations leadership (US and Canada) providing insights and analytics to drive operational improvements
- Partner in the month-end closing process. Ensure inventory balance sheet and COGS P&L are appropriately stated and agree with GAAP. Build COGS "Financial Story" and provide summary to Senior Leadership
- Analyze product costs, to ensure accurate and effective utilization of materials and manufacturing resources
- Key member of budget process, specifically focusing on product cost and manufacturing efficiency. Provide monthly analysis on variance to budget and partner with Operations on actionable plans for improvement
- Monitor and analyze plant manufacturing efficiency. Provide insight & recommendations to Operations Leadership
- Work with executive leadership to identify cost saving opportunities and support customer profitability initiatives.
- Maintain inventory item master attributes, including standard costs and bill of materials
- Assist the Finance Director with inventory verification and closing of year end information, including audit and tax processing
- Coordination of cycle count process, investigate cycle counting variances, resolve issues. Perform root cause analysis to drive necessary changes in processes within Operations
- Lead process improvement activities in support of inventory and manufacturing
- Ownership of Operations and Finance BI initiatives, working with our third party PowerBI/Knime developers to create and improve reporting capabilities
Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- 6+ years of finance or accounting in a manufacturing industry (commodities is a plus)
- CMA and/or CPA preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Knowledge of visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau Preferred
- Some Travel Required (Up to 10%)
Salary & Benefits:The expected compensation range for this position is $115,000 which includes annual base pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. Position is eligible for variable incentive pay in accordance with performance in accordance with an annual bonus plan. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
Work location:- Hybrid Eligible in office Tuesday-Thursday (Job Duties allow for some remote work but requires travel to Eden Prairie, MN office)
