Job Description Senior Financial Analyst, Manufacturing Cost Accounting Summary*This position will have a strong focus on Cost Accounting and P&L Variance analysis* The Senior Financial Analyst, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, is responsible for driving financial insight and operational performance through standard cost accounting, manufacturing variance analysis, inventory reporting, and P&L analysis. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to identify cost drivers, explain manufacturing performance, and support profitability improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong experience in a manufacturing environment and is highly skilled in cost accounting, inventory analysis, standard costing, and operational finance.
Primary Responsibilities- Own standard cost accounting processes and support annual cost roll activities.
- Analyze manufacturing variances including labor, material, overhead, purchase price, scrap, yield, absorption, and inventory variances.
- Prepare and explain daily, weekly, and monthly P&L variance reporting.
- Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to identify opportunities to improve yield, throughput, OEE, and profitability.
- Analyze inventory valuation, inventory reserves, and manufacturing cost performance.
- Develop financial models to evaluate operational improvement initiatives and cost reduction opportunities.
- Support monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and strategic planning processes.
- Prepare management reporting and present findings to plant and finance leadership.
- Investigate material cost, labor cost, and manufacturing overhead trends impacting plant performance.
- Support SOX compliance and internal controls related to inventory and cost accounting processes.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to inventory and manufacturing accounting.
- Must be willing to work extra hours, when necessary, to ensure quality and timely deliverable of responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or operations finance experience.
- Experience with standard costing and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Experience analyzing labor, material, scrap, inventory, and overhead variances.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivots, lookups, and large data analysis.
- Experience partnering with manufacturing or operations leadership.
Preferred- Experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, metals, or engineered products environments.
- ERP experience (SyteLine/Infor preferred).
- Experience supporting inventory valuation and month-end cost accounting processes.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The typical work environment is a standard office setting / office contained in a manufacturing setting. The employee is occasionally required to perform work in a manufacturing setting, occasionally exposed to high noise levels.
