Overview

The FP&A Senior Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting of business performance, as well as thorough and robust financial forecasts. The FP&A Analyst is a highly visible and mission critical role and serves as a key resource to senior decision-makers in the business. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the monthly/quarterly forecasting process for the corporation with a focus on creation of value-add commentary.
  • Assists the Supervisor, FP&A, in managing the strategic and financial planning process.
  • Develops and prepares financial analysis and reporting as needed as it relates to our IFRS, Capital and expense results.
  • Sets and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives.
  • Works with department heads to develop a staffing model which can be used to analyze current and future staffing levels.
  • Help recommend strategies for increasing financial performance.
  • Conducts and leads special projects and ad hoc requests for Finance leadership and the corporation's Management Group. Initiates and creates special projects for relevant items.
  • Assists with researching Financial Planning & Analysis best practices; develops subject matter expertise in multiple FP&A areas.
  • Assists in supporting development and assessment of projects and initiatives including budget capacity / affordability; performs benefit realization analyses for projects and initiatives to assess their performance-to-budget.
  • Assists the Finance Data Warehouse Analyst in the automation of reports and processes.
  • Interprets large sets of data and effectively communicate data trends; capable of applying knowledge to ensure data is carefully gathered and verified.
  • Designs analyses in dashboard format for easy delivery to senior management.
  • Conducts other activities as assigned by management.


Qualifications

Education

BS Accounting or related field with emphasis in Accounting.

MBA or advanced degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

Experience/Knowledge

4-6 years progressive accounting experience

Public Accounting experience (2-5 years preferred)

Knowledge of GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles

Financial analysis experience preferred

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Well organized, innovative, and high level of initiative

Detail oriented, able to manage several tasks with a high level of accuracy

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and establish priorities to meet tight deadlines

Flexibility when working with changing deliverables

Experience with Power BI preferred.

Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, SQL)

Ability to interpret large volumes of data

What's in it for you?

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $93,200 - $128,075 annually. This is a hybrid opportunity working in Frederick, MD.

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 8% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 15 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
