Position Summary

As a full-service environmental remediation, asbestos abatement, selective demolition, and structural demolition contractor, we are looking for a motivated industry professional who can successfully manage projects from opportunity identification and estimating through project completion while maintaining strong client relationships and operational leadership.

Job Purpose

The Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for developing new business opportunities, preparing accurate estimates and proposals, securing contracts, and managing projects through successful completion.

This position serves as a key liaison between clients, operations, field personnel, subcontractors, and company leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will establish and maintain regional client relationships, support business development initiatives, prepare competitive estimates, and oversee project execution for demolition, environmental remediation, asbestos, mold, lead, PCB abatement, and related construction services.

Estimating Responsibilities
  • Attend site visits, walkthroughs, and pre-bid meetings.
  • Review plans, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and competitive proposals utilizing estimating and takeoff software.
  • Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, disposal, and contingency cost estimates.
  • Prepare bid packages, prequalification documents, and proposal submissions.
  • Enter and maintain estimating and sales activity information within company CRM systems. Follow up on submitted proposals and negotiate contract awards when necessary.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimating process. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Drive new business growth within the demolition, remediation, and construction markets.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to bid on projects and secure new contracts.
  • Collaborate with company leadership and business development teams to execute strategic growth initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest levels of responsiveness, integrity, and customer service.
  • Consistently achieve performance goals and key business development metrics.

Project Management Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from contract award through final completion and closeout.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and procurement strategies.
  • Coordinate project startup meetings with field personnel and operations teams.
  • Monitor project performance, costs, productivity, schedule compliance, and profitability.
  • Prepare and provide Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports and project updates to management.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Review and process change orders, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents, Field Supervisors, and Operations personnel to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage project billing, documentation, customer communications, and closeout activities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout all phases of project delivery.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in demolition, environmental remediation, abatement, construction, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating, proposal preparation, and project management.
  • Proven success in business development, client relationship management, and contract acquisition.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall project performance.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, contracts, project controls, and cost management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required background screening.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Established relationships with general contractors, consultants, industrial clients, municipalities, or developers within the demolition and environmental industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced estimating or project management training and certifications.
  • Experience in construction, demolition, asbestos, lead, PCB abatement, mold and environmental remediation projects.

Work Environment

This position operates in both office and field environments. Responsibilities include preparing estimates, reviewing project documentation, meeting with clients, and regularly visiting active construction, demolition, and remediation sites. Field conditions may include exposure to dust, noise, airborne particles, weather extremes, uneven terrain, elevated work areas, and active construction operations. Appropriate personal protective equipment may be required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee may sit for extended periods while preparing estimates and managing project documentation, while also frequently walking active job sites. Duties may require climbing stairs and ladders, traversing uneven terrain, lifting materials or equipment, and working in varying environmental conditions. The position requires manual dexterity, mobility, and the ability to perform site inspections safely.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salaried position. Additional hours, including evenings and weekends, may occasionally be required to support project schedules, client meetings, estimating deadlines and operational demands.

Travel

Regular local and regional travel is required for project meetings, site visits, walkthroughs, client development activities, and project oversight. Limited overnight travel may be required based on project location and business needs.
