Job OverviewThe Senior Estimator scrutinizes incoming inquiries, evaluates all technical issues, prepares estimates of the costs for the execution of the works, submits proposals to clients and negotiates terms and conditions with the clients to contract award. The Senior Estimator has extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles. The Senior Estimator will directly organize and manage a diverse multi-disciplined team of Estimators and support staff. The Senior Estimator will estimate the cost of self-perform work and project indirect costs, review cost estimates prepared by team members, while managing Skanska’s risk. The Senior Estimator will be a self-starter and work efficiently, must be able to meet critical deadlines and have the ability to lead and work as part of a greater team. The Senior Estimator can also be named the Sponsor of a particular pursuit should the value of the pursuit require it.
Sr. Estimator Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering or Construction Management or Similar Technical Training and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience.
- 10 - 15 years of experience.
- Requires mastery level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
- Deep knowledge of project management.
