As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and market conditions. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive and precise estimates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate risks and optimize cost efficiency.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of costs, labor rates, and vendor pricing.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators and support their professional development.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and present estimates to management and clients.
- Stay informed of industry trends, materials, and labor market conditions to enhance estimating accuracy.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor proposals and pricing.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in construction estimating.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and codes.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
