The Role:
The Senior EPM Solutions Analyst serves as a technical and functional expert supporting Morningstar's Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) ecosystem. This role partners closely with Finance, FP&A, Controllership, and Technology teams to analyze business requirements, implement application enhancements, develop technical solutions, and provide ongoing support for Oracle EPM applications.
Responsibilities:
Oracle EPM Administration & Support
- Administer, maintain, and support Oracle EPM Cloud applications, including: EPBCS / Planning Free Form Planning FCCS ARCS PCMCS Narrative Reporting
- Monitor application performance and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, user-reported defects, and data integrity concerns.
- Support month-end, forecast, budget, reconciliation, and reporting cycles.
- Assist with application upgrades, testing, and release management activities.
Solution Development & Configuration
- Translate approved business requirements and solution designs into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain: Groovy business rules Essbase calculation scripts Data Integration / Data Exchange processes EPM Automate solutions Metadata management processes Data load and validation routines
- Design and support BSO and ASO cube structures.
- Perform system testing, validation, and deployment activities.
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency improvements.
Business Analysis & Partnership
- Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, and Controllership teams to understand business processes and requirements.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution reviews, and enhancement discussions.
- Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements.
- Document business requirements, technical solutions, testing results, and support procedures.
- Serve as a trusted partner to business users by providing functional and technical guidance.
Finance Process Support
Support finance processes including:
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Workforce planning
- Capital planning
- Management reporting
- Consolidations
- Allocations
- Account reconciliations
- Financial close activities
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and support financial reports, dashboards, and management reporting solutions.
- Maintain reporting hierarchies and financial data structures.
- Support enhancements to reporting processes and analytics capabilities.
- Assist users in leveraging data to make informed business decisions.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and training materials.
- Document system configurations, calculations, integrations, and business processes.
- Support knowledge transfer activities and help improve team resiliency through documentation and cross-training.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle EPM applications.
- Experience working with FP&A, Finance, Accounting, or Controllership organizations.
- Experience supporting enterprise financial planning and reporting systems.
