Ready to lead impactful infrastructure projects that shape communities across the Northeast? Dewberry is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our growing Northeast Environmental Group in Parsippany, NJ. 

 

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned environmental professional to take a leadership role on high-profile transportation, infrastructure, and construction projects from planning and permitting through construction and completion. You'll work alongside talented multidisciplinary teams, collaborate directly with clients and regulatory agencies, and help drive projects that make a lasting difference. 

 

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams on complex environmental and infrastructure initiatives. 
  • Manage environmental permitting and compliance efforts, ensuring projects move successfully through regulatory requirements. 
  • Oversee NEPA reviews and a variety of state and federal environmental permits, including Waterfront Development and CAFRA
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, transportation agencies, and regulatory stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels. 
  • Serve as a strategic advisor, helping clients navigate environmental challenges while advancing critical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate staff with multiple technical disciplines supporting large scale, multi- million dollar, regional infrastructure, design, and construction projects.   
  • Manage numerous environmental, construction, project assignments and deliverables, on time and within budget; 
  • Expedite coordination of preliminary and final design to assure best approach to comply with environmental permit restrictions, project goals and objectives;  
  • Interact with designers, technical project managers, discipline leads, to inform and guide and incorporate environmental best practices; 
  • Supervise multi-disciplined staff to assure that environmental restrictions are incorporated in the design and construction contract specifications, and assure contractor compliance with environmental monitoring during construction; 
  • Coordinate project activities among the project team, designers, construction staff, agency representatives, and transportation providers; 
  • Oversee the review of permit documents, plans and technical studies and develop strategies to expedite and permit regulations comments and concerns; 
  • Provide public-facing guidance on construction activities to minimize environmental impacts, inform the public, and ensure timely project delivery 
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS Environmental Engineering 
  • PE license required; LSRP preferred
  • 15-20 years of experience overseeing the execution of environmental technical studies and permitting tasks for complex transportation projects 
  • 10-15 years of project management experience on large scale transportation projects in the NE region
  • Strong reputation and long-term relationships with resource, regulatory, and transportation agencies
  • Active involvement with professional organizations at the regional and national level

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $159,425 to $204,975 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
