Full Job Description
About NexHealth

NexHealth's mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare. The industry still runs on outdated systems, with manual workflows and siloed data holding back progress. We're building the infrastructure to change that-modern, open APIs that make it easier for developers to build great patient and provider experiences. With real-time integrations into electronic health record systems (EHRs), NexHealth's Synchronizer API powers a more connected, accessible, and modern healthcare ecosystem.

Founded: 2017
Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
Funding: $177M Series C
Employees: 190
Website: Synchronizer.io (API product), NexHealth.com (Patient Experience product)
The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead the development of the Sync Core. Synchronizer provides native, real-time, bidirectional synchronization between numerous EHR systems of record and NexHealth's harmonized central database. This foundation enables healthcare innovators to focus on improving patient experiences and outcomes-while we handle the underlying infrastructure.

This is step two in our three-step master plan. You'll be responsible for raising engineering quality and execution velocity across the organization, making it easier and faster to create and extend Synchronizers. The role involves working closely with multiple engineering teams and product managers to define the next-generation Synchronizer API offering.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about solving novel, complex challenges. No prior experience in health tech is required.
What You'll Do
  • Hire and develop exceptional engineers to build a high-performing team
  • Support engineers in their career growth through mentorship, feedback, and leadership development
  • Uphold high technical standards through sound processes (e.g., architecture reviews, testing) and strong engineering culture
  • Partner with engineering and product leadership to define and execute long-term platform roadmaps
  • Coordinate execution and collaborate across teams to deliver cross-cutting, high-impact projects
What You'll Bring
  • Proven track record (7+ years) leading engineering teams, including managing managers
  • Exceptional people leadership skills, with experience coaching both engineers and managers
  • Deep experience delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure systems
  • Strong judgment in balancing engineering velocity with long-term technical quality
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across Product, Sales, and Customer Success
  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive technical and organizational roadmaps
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
What We Look For
  • A builder mindset with a history of scaling teams and systems in fast-paced environments
  • Strong ownership and initiative in ambiguous, evolving contexts
  • A change agent capable of guiding our transformation into an API-first company.
  • Bias for action and data-driven decision making
  • First-principles thinking applied to both technical and organizational challenges.
  • Deep care for people development and team health
  • Alignment with NexHealth's core values and mission
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $213,000 - $268,000 USD per year (based on experience and location)
Equity: Competitive stock options
Benefits include:
  • Full Medical, Dental, and Vision (up to 100% covered)
  • 401K and commuter benefits
  • Flexible PTO
  • High-impact work that directly improves the healthcare experience for millions
