Full Job Description
About This Role:

Crusoe Cloud is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Deployment to lead the organization responsible for physically and logically bringing our global network online. As we rapidly scale our footprint of high-performance compute (HPC) and GPU-based AI infrastructure, you will own the deployment team's people, process, and delivery across a growing portfolio of concurrent global builds, partnering directly with Network Deployment technical leadership to turn strategy into a reliably executing organization.

You're accountable for the org's output: every site, every quarter, at hyperscale pace. You build and scale the team, shape how deployment standards get adopted and enforced in practice, and are a trusted voice in planning conversations with Data Center Ops, Supply Chain, and Site Reliability leadership.

What You'll Be Working On:
  • Build and Lead the Organization: Own the deployment org's structure and growth. Hire and develop Managers, Staff, and Senior Network Production Engineers across multiple sites and time zones, and build the management layer beneath you as the team scales.
  • Own the Delivery Portfolio: Be accountable for on-time, zero-defect delivery across the full portfolio of concurrent site build-outs. Set the operating cadence, staffing model, and escalation paths that make that possible.
  • Translate Strategy into Execution: Partner with Network Deployment technical leadership to turn multi-quarter deployment strategy and standards into org-wide execution plans, and feed field realities back into how those standards evolve.
  • Run Executive-Level Cadence: Own program reporting and risk escalation to Data Center Ops, Supply Chain, and Site Reliability leadership. Represent the deployment org in cross-functional and executive planning.
  • Own Vendor and Partner Performance: Set and enforce SLAs and quality bars for structured cabling vendors, remote hands, and data center providers. Escalate systemic partner issues and drive resolution at the program level.
  • Champion Validation Rigor: Ensure burn-in and site acceptance testing (SAT) standards are consistently met across every site in the portfolio. Partner with Operations leadership on handoff quality and root-cause resolution.
  • Own Capacity Planning Inputs: Partner with Supply Chain and Infrastructure leadership on hardware lifecycle, lead-time risk, and turn-up cadence across the org's full site pipeline.
  • Drive Org-Level Continuous Improvement: Run cross-site retrospectives and post-incident reviews. Identify systemic gaps in tooling, staffing, or process and drive the fixes, in partnership with technical leadership.
  • Develop the Next Layer of Leaders: Coach managers and senior engineers into stronger technical and people leaders, and build the org's bench strength for future scale.
  • Own Frontend Network Reference Architecture: Define and maintain standardized reference architectures for the frontend GPU/compute fabric, covering leaf-spine design, RDMA/RoCE, optics, and scale-out topology, so every new site is built against a known-good blueprint rather than designed from scratch. Partner with Architecture to keep these designs current as GPU generations and interconnect standards evolve.
  • Own Backend Network Reference Architecture: Define and maintain standardized reference architectures for backend networks, covering storage fabric, management, and out-of-band connectivity, ensuring consistent, repeatable designs across every site in the portfolio and clear standards for how backend builds integrate with frontend fabric during turn-up.

What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering or data center deployment, including 4+ years managing engineers or engineering managers in a large-scale infrastructure environment.
  • Proven People and Org Leadership: Track record of building, scaling, and retaining high-performing technical teams. Experience managing managers or team leads is strongly preferred.
  • Portfolio-Level Program Ownership: Demonstrated ability to own delivery across many concurrent, complex projects spanning sites, time zones, and vendors, with the reporting and risk management to match at an executive level.
  • Strong Technical Fluency: Solid grounding in physical layer standards (structured cabling, optics, 400G/800G and beyond), leaf-spine fabric (Arista/Juniper/NVIDIA-Mellanox), and protocols (BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, LLDP), enough to shape standards conversations and credibly challenge both Architecture and your own team, without needing to be the org's deepest technical expert.
  • Automation Fluency: Working understanding of Python/Ansible/ZTP-based deployment automation and CI/CD patterns, sufficient to guide investment decisions and evaluate tooling proposals.
  • Vendor and Partner Leadership: Experience setting and enforcing SLAs with external partners at scale, including escalation and remediation when performance slips.
  • Executive Communication: Comfortable setting context, managing expectations, and delivering hard news to senior stakeholders across Ops, Supply Chain, and Architecture.
  • Operational and Strategic Judgment: Able to balance near-term delivery pressure against longer-term org health, standards quality, and team sustainability.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience in hyperscale or ISP environments.

Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation and equity packages
  • Restricted Stock Units
  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs
  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance
  • Employer contributions to HSA account
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Professional development & tuition reimbursement
  • Mental health & wellness support
  • Commuter benefits (parking & transit)
  • Cell phone stipend
  • 401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary
  • Volunteer time off
  • Global travel insurance & emergency assistance
  • Daily meals allowance
  • Additional perks & programs specific to location

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $230,000 - $280,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
