Senior-level position works within the Telecom Test - Communication Maintenance Services department. Responsible for handling assignments requiring a high level of expertise and extensive experience associated with testing and maintenance of remote monitoring systems, and Infrared Thermography. Provides support directly or in collaboration with technical services, IT, system operations, control centers, dispatch, emergency preparedness and engineering personnel in performing maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, repair, and installation of assigned systems to meet business requirements. This position documents testing and maintenance tasks and creates reports of test results. The selected candidate must be able to work and solve problems both independently and in a team environment. Responsible for compliance and maintenance of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) systems.
Essential Functions:
37Responsible for transformer remote monitoring systems, and related electronic communication devices.
37Performs field installation of network communications for equipment; including interfacing with intelligent electronic devices (IED) via remote, serial, and fiber optic communication terminals.
37Responsible for monitoring systems such as Dynamic Ratings, Serveron, Calisto, Eclipse, and other transformer remote monitoring products.
37Provides technical expertise, advice, and support to engineering, construction, test, and other personnel as required.
37Assists Engineers with maintenance and repairs of transformer monitoring systems at electrical substations.
37Reviews test reports of test technicians and test specialists for accuracy.
37Provides input to reports, drawings, sketches, logs, and records of work performed.
37Fill out inspection sheets and create electronic test reports of findings in MS Excel and other computer-based programs.
37Keeps organized documentation of all maintenance performed.
37Reads and interprets engineering drawings such as schematics, wiring, logic and interconnections diagrams and updates any field changes.
37Works with outside vendors to schedule repairs of equipment.
37Provides training and mentorship for Test Technicians and Test Specialist level employees.
Other supporting tasks may include:
37Assist field technicians to verify wiring of newly installed monitors in the field, make corrections, and update prints.
37May perform various field-based testing after appropriate training
37May perform data analysis for maintenance data and update records after appropriate training
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
37Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic components, circuitry, and systems.
37Ability to use computer-based technology with various types of software (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and others).
37Knowledge and skill in using common hand tools required.
37Strong knowledge of electrical testing using voltmeters, ammeters, and/or other equipment.
37Skill and manual dexterity in making repairs, adjustments, and modifications to equipment.
37Ability to communicate technical information effectively, in both verbal and written form.
37Strong knowledge of Infrared Thermography and Optical Gas Imaging camera equipment required.
37Strong knowledge of industry safety rules and practices.
Education:
37Bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:
37At least 5 years of Engineering experience.
37Electrical component troubleshooting experience preferred.
37Strong knowledge of Infrared Thermography and Optical Gas Imaging camera equipment preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
37Critical Infrastructure Protection certification must be maintained annually.
37Must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Working Conditions:
37Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
37Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
37On-Call responsibilities are required
Some work is conducted outside, in varied conditions and terrain including adverse weather conditions, and in a normal office environment which requires sitting, walking, standing, stair climbing and completion of paperwork.

$129,450.00-$143,830.00
