Senior Engineer, Supplier Development

Summary
The Senior Supplier Development Engineer is responsible for the total quality lifecycle management (pre and post onboarding) for all suppliers within scope.
This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality and ensures supplier compliance through targeted process control and risk mitigation methods such as audits, assessments, FAI qualifications, risk assessments, Supplier Zero Defect Plan.
The Senior Supplier Development Engineer is an essential safeguard of procured products and services working closely with VG suppliers, Supply Chain, site Project and Operations Quality teams, Supplier Quality Engineering, Venture Global Operational Support (VGOS) Inventory locations, Engineering, and the VG CI / RCA team to address Top Issues (high impact supplier escapes) and enabling delivery of Zero Supplier escapes and associated COPQ and schedule impacts.
General Description Duties & Responsibilities
3 Partner directly with suppliers to ensure right first-time deliveries (zero escapes)
3 Perform supplier surveillance and process assessments and / or audits to evaluate supplier's capability to meet VG Quality requirements
3 Lead Quality for applicable Procurement Status Report (PSR) activities
3 Engage and support applicable Material Requisition (MR) and technical specification reviews
3 Coordinate with Engineering to assign MR Quality Levels, define Quality Plans
3 Support deployed inspection resources, take actions based on inspection results
3 Lead and conduct pre-inspection meetings at key supplier locations
3 Manage and issue inspection releases as needed
3 Ensure key / critical packages are Go-no-go ready before sail-away
3 Conduct minimum FAI / delta FAI qualifications prior to initial supplier deliveries
3 Support supplier Kick off Meetings to validate ITPs / process controls in place
3 Interface directly with procurement, materials management / VGOS, VG sites, etc. to address potential supplier escapes (in transit, receiving, installation, etc.)
3 Generate and manage Supplier Non-conformance reports and Corrective action request to ensure timely issue resolution and recurrence prevention, respectively
3 As part of the Supplier Zero Defect Program (ZDP) report and track all supplier escapes, audit findings, and associated COPQ
3 Develop a data based ZDP improvement plan for key and critical suppliers
3 Promote the VG Quality culture with suppliers
Qualifications
Required experience
3 Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
3 A minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality / procurement
3 Experience with auditing, RCA (A3, 8D) and risk assessment methodologies
3 Thorough understanding of the Oil and Gas / LNG liquefaction business, industry codes, standards, regulatory bodies, industry standards (ie ISO, API Q2), etc.
3 Internal or lead auditor certified
3 ASQ CQE, Greenbelt, or Black Belt certification a plus
3 Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
3 Experience supporting / leading small teams of third-party inspection resources
3 Experience with Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, Projects, Powerpoint, etc.)
3 Willingness to travel as needed to VG and supplier facilities
3 Ability to obtain a TWIC Card
