Job Description:

The Security and Computing Group Business Unit within Microchip is looking for an Senior Engineer I - Product to drive all facets of Product Support and New Product Development. Lead and work closely with global engineering teams to drive success for our Security and Computing products. This is a high visibility position within a dynamic business unit at Microchip.
  • Support New Product Development from design phase through mass production.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ramp new semiconductor products to successful production launch.
  • Lead effort with Applications and Quality Engineering teams to support customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Interface with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues that are technical (fab, test, design related) and non-technical (supply chain, system related).
  • Prepare and manage project schedule, validation plan, characterization plan, qualification plan, and material control plans.
  • Manage development of Burn-In PCB boards and supporting hardware/software to be used in new product qualification.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, cost, and delivery while sustaining existing products.
  • Analyze production yields and yield limiters to solve manufacturing related issues.
  • Support foundry and assembly migration efforts aimed at increasing the capacity for commercial, industrial, and automotive customer base.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills are a must with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate to various positions (planning, customer support, R&D Engineering, etc).
  • Ability to successfully track and complete multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Flexibility to communicate with different time zones as needed.
  • Semiconductor packaging technology knowledge preferred.
  • Automotive support knowledge with emphasis on die and package qualification preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze validation, ATE datalogs, and fab electrical test data.
  • Experience with bench laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, supplies, and meters.
  • Ability to decipher PCB schematics.
