JOB PURPOSEDevelop and Implement Hardware and Firmware, including Firmware, for Bone Growth & Tissue Regeneration Devices. Use state-of-the-art tools, including electromagnetic and ultrasound exposure modeling, machine learning, computer vision, and deep learning, to develop the next generation of regenerative tissue and bone growth applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.
- Perform electromagnetic and ultrasound exposure optimization utilizing computer simulation software (SEMCAD/SIM4LIFE).
- Implement (electrical/mechanical) designs of optimized electromagnetic and ultrasound exposure devices.
- Design and implement automated test systems for the newly created electromagnetic and ultrasound exposure systems.
- Create firmware necessary to operate and interface with electromagnetic and ultrasound exposure systems.
- Develop machine vision and machine learning based systems to assess patient motion, such as the range of motion of the Cervical Spine, Knee, Rotator Cuff, or others.
- Participate in the hardware/firmware development of the next generation PEMF and Ultrasound bone/tissue stimulation systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Education/Certifications: - B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities:- 5+ years of experience as an electrical engineer, firmware/firmware developer.
- Ability to implement code on Windows and Linux platforms.
- Use of various programming languages such as C#.Net and Python.
- Experience with SEMCAD or SIM4Life simulation software.
- Familiarity with Azure and Docker.
- Ability to design and layout circuit boards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSThe education, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above.
Education/Certifications: - M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities:- 2-3 years of industry experience.
- Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities:
- Knowledge of C++ and C.
- Ability to develop code in various Development Environments such as Visual Code, Visual Studio, or QT.
- Familiar with FDA Cybersecurity requirements.
- Familiar with cloud-based servers.
